Lotus Flower Spoon Art

Here is my Lotus flower made entirely out of spoons as you see. I cut the handles off of the spoons, individually painted each spoon scoop with acrylic paint, and then hot glued them together to form this flower. I chose to give it the ombre effect from the center out because I think it highlights the detail and effort that was put into this project. (Also because I think it looks a lot better than just painting them all one color). The lily pad is one dimensional because I wanted the flower to have a 3D look, as if it were coming up from out of the water. I look forward to criticism, as I may end up creating a pond scene around this flower. Hope you guys like it, thanks! ~Britt

  1. I just love how you used the spoons as the flower. I would have never thought of doing something like that. Great job using the colors as well. like how u faded the colors from light to dark. Nothing negative about this project. All positive vibe over here

  2. I love how the construction of the flower of the lily pad is and made of spoons helps the fact to bring out that 3d effect. I'm not necessarily in favor of the background of the pad as the colors seems too compatible. If there maybe was some shadow or some light under the flower, i think t would bring it out more.

  5. I thought your project was amazing. The formalism and imitationalism used to produce this piece. The Koi fish was awesome! I also like the reflection you used in the water from the fish! The depth and realness of the lotus flower! Great job!

  6. I like this flower. I can tell that it took time and patience. You chose a beautiful color scheme. I wish it was a little bigger but at the same time, I like the size of it as it is. :)
